Questions I get all the time.
-
No, I'm a movement coach. I'm trained to help you solve pain through movement assessment, exercise, and education—not medical treatment. If your issue truly requires medical intervention, I'll let you know and help point you in the right direction. But most chronic pain clients find that what they need is exactly what I offer: time, attention, and a tailored approach.
-
It's more than that. I use Evolved Coaching—a method of creative, targeted problem-solving. I look at how your joints articulate, how muscles contract to move specific bones, and how to increase the signal from your brain to your muscles. I develop hypotheses about what's causing your issue, then we run experiments together to test them. Once we find what works, we build capacity in that muscle or tendon through endurance, strength, and power work.
-
No. Sessions are private-pay, which means no referrals needed and no insurance hassles. I can provide a receipt if you'd like to submit for HSA reimbursement or out-of-network benefits, but I don't bill insurance directly.
-
It depends on your case. Some clients see significant improvement in 1 to 3 sessions. More complex or long-standing issues might take 5 to 8 sessions over a few months. After your first session, I'll give you an honest recommendation. I want you to be independent and confident as soon as possible.

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in—gym clothes work great. Bring water, and if you use orthotics or braces, bring those too. For virtual sessions, you'll just need a laptop or phone with a camera and some space to move. I'll work with whatever equipment you have at home.
-
Absolutely. Virtual sessions use the same assessment and coaching process as in-person. I'll have you film your movement before our first session, then we'll review and troubleshoot together, and you'll leave with a clear plan. Many of my remote clients get the same results as in-person clients.
-
Usually, no. My approach is to modify how you do it or reduce the volume temporarily—but I want to keep you doing what you love in some capacity. If running 5 miles hurts, maybe we start with 1-mile runs or switch some days to biking. Staying active is good for your body and your mind. Only in rare cases (like a suspected stress fracture) would I recommend complete rest, and if that's the case, you'd likely need medical care alongside coaching anyway.
-
That's totally fine. My work can complement what they're doing. I focus on the active exercise and movement coaching side, and I'm happy to coordinate with other providers if that's helpful. Many clients come to me between their regular PT visits to get more hands-on coaching time.

I ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel. Life happens, and I get it—but last-minute cancellations mean I can't fill that spot. If you cancel within 48 hours without an emergency, you'll be charged for the session.
